Harvey Update

Been back to the Vets today with our Harvey. His heart and nice and strong and steady and the pancreatitis all cleared up so just got to stay on tablets and go back in 3 months.

So glad he's feeling better. Here is pic of our Harvey with Emma his best friend :):)

Sorry for no posts this week but we have been having a very rough week.

Our poor Boxer Doggy Harvey has been poorly. He is 9 years old and we adopted him from a friend in August 2010. He was being sick Tuesday and Wednesday and off his food so took him to the vets who said he was dehydrated and needed to spend the night at the vets having test and on a fluid drip. The worrying part was that he collapsed in our garden and I had to carry him into the house.

After spending a comfortable night at the vets we went next day to collect him and was told he had Pancreatitis which was why he was being sick but when x-rayed it was also found he has an enlarged heart and fluid on his lungs.

He is being treated with tablets and a shot but still not his bouncy self yet :(

Strawberry Kisses Sneak Peek Day 6 - launch day!

My Fave makes of 2011!

Below are my faves of the projects made in 2011. I found it very hard to narrow down to a few but below each pic is a reason for my choice.

I love this one as it was one of the first CAS cards I made and really got me back into them.

This one was a cased-card from another blog and I love the simplicity of the two colours.

Love this one , even though took AGES to make as all the stitching is pricked then sewn by hand!

This card is extra special to me as it was showing this card on my blog that lead to being asked to join the CRAFTERS COMPANION DT. Humphrey will always have a special place in my heart :)

Another Humphrey card but this one is Lottie from the Decoupage pages. Love the Spring colours.

This card I am really proud of as the shading is the best I had done up to that point and I'm sure I have the Spectrum Noir pens to thank for it!

This was a DT project for the Snowman CD and was my very first attempt at an exploding box.

Lastly I had to chose this picture as it was a Ruby Wedding Anniversary present for my parents which is now proudly displayed in their lounge.

I used four stamps from an Elzybells clear set and coloured with Speccies. I made them first in squares but it didn't look right so then punched 1.5 circle punch with the bottom one being punched through the card and the image inside.

This card fits two challenges:-

I used an old Stampin Up (bought from Ebay - dated 2000) set and stamped over the edge of the card blank. The stamps are a two-step set so the orange was stamped first with the red edging after so used a stamp jig to make sure was in the correct place. I wanted to keep the flowers as the main focal point so just used a small sentiment to finish.

Winter Wonderland

I have had a mammoth Xmas Card making session this afternoon, but has been a little cheat as all made on PC with new Tatty Ted Me to You Docrafts CD and then embellished when printed out. Added stickles to the bear, holly and stars for lots of sparkle. I punched out Snowflake in co-ordinating card and added a pearl to centre.

I love this card so made a few more.

Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge #17 - UPDATED

This is my DT card for this month's challenge on CRAFTERS COMPANION MONTHLY CHALLENGE which is a theme of:-

I used my Humphrey Xmas CD and used papers and decoupage image and made a tent card with an extra fold at the front. The paper on the front with the aperture is actually an insert with nestie used to cut an aperture and then accented the printed shape of the insert with glitter pens in pink and green.

Sneak Peeks - Part 5

These are my last two sneak peeks - don't worry you only have to wait until 13th September to get these cuties yourself. I really think CRAFTERS COMPANION have done us all proud with these.

My first is a shaped card made using nesties (there are some fabulous shaped card templates on the CD's too). The image is another of the new stamps again coloured with SPECTRUM NOIRS. The paper is from CD and the sentiment is from the stamp sets.

The second is another cutie stamp coloured with SPECTRUM NOIRS. The paper is a fave from the CD, which I changed the colour using the colouriser to match my striped ribbon from stash.

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my peeks. The other DT have made some fabulous projects - well done girlies. Can't wait to see them on screen on Monday (and squealling very loudly LOL)

Sneak Peeks - Part 4

Another two Sneak Peeks from Humphrey Christmas CD's from CRAFTERS COMPANION and these are my first two using the fabulous stamps to match the CD's.

My first is a small Easel card. Papers are from CD with this cutie Humphrey image coloured with my lovely SPECTRUM NOIR PENS. I thought it would make a great little gift card holder with a slot on the back for the cash!

This second card is super sweet! I loved it on the CD but was so pleased it is also a stamp as can personalise the colour of the nappy for boys or girls! Again coloured with SPECTRUM NOIR PENS. Melts my heart!

Sneak Peeks - Part 3

Another two sneak peeks for you from the adorable Humphrey Christmas CD's released 13 Sept from CRAFTERS COMPANION.

My first peek is a decorated bag. I bought some plain white bags as I had the idea to "Humphrey" them up with some of the fabulous papers and decoupage on the CD. I thought they would stand out to other packaging and plan to make more and personalise them with names. I love the decoupage on this one. Reminds me of my kiddies when they were little running to their Dad :)

This second project is one of my fave Humphrey images. Just love the soft subtle colours of the pic. The decoupage is so lovely I didn't want to overload the card too much so just some punched cardstock, one of the papers and white ribbon finish it off.

Sneak Peeks - Part 2

These are another two cards made using the Humphrey Christmas CD's from CRAFTERS COMPANION. You only have to wait until 13th September to get your paws on them LOL

The first is made using one of the Card Companions on the CD. All I added was the card for matting and the brads. The figures have one layer of decoupage. Great for quick cards.

This second card is one of the 3d toppers. Humphrey as a Pyramage. So easy but very effective. The paper on the base is also from the CD. Snowflake punch and pearls to finish.

These are my first two sneak peeks of the fabby new Humphrey's Christmas CD's available on 13th September from CRAFTERS COMPANION. They will be Pick of the Day on Create & Craft. There is a double CD set (Jingle bells & Ho Ho Ho) with stamps sets to complement them.

Today I made these two Christmas cards. I'm trying to make a mixture of Cute and CAS cards this year.

This first card has a CB snowflake punches through the white card and then cross-hatched embossing lines on my MS scoreboard. Then sprayed spray and sparkle onto white card to make glitter card for one of the mats for the sentiment and one of the punched snowflakes, then pale blue bazzill card for the bottom layer to show through the aperture and for punch small snowflake and mat on greeting.

I decided to have a little play with my Speccie pens and colour in this lovely Humphrey stamp that has yet to see ink (bad, bad Jane!)

I knew I wanted to use the turquoise set as these are my fave shades in the pens so thought it would match lovely with yellows are a very bright, cheery card. The colours I used are:-

Skin: Warm Grey 0.5, 1, 3, 5 & 196

Hat: 45, 37, 41

Ribbon: 178, 171, 65

Dress: 33, 87, 163, 23, 109

Shadow: Warm Grey 1 & blender

I cut the base card on my Claibur using a Marianne die which was then embossed and sanded to release the core of the core-dinations card.

The "pearls" are made using a paint pen - love it!!!!

Sneak Peek - Humphreys Christmas

These are my last Sneak Peeks of one of the sets due to launch on CREATE & CRAFT on Friday from CRAFTERS COMPANION.

This last set is a Humphreys Christmas Die Cut decoupage set. They are sooooooooo cute!!!! I hope these are going to come out as stamps/CD's soon! I have used papers from "A Touch of Christmas" CD and Humphrey CD.

This set is Humphrey Die Cut Decoupage which gives the main image then the die cut elements also. I used papers from Humphrey CD's to back them except the last card which is drawn lines with speccies and dots where they cross (love the result!).

I had a little time before work last night so I decided to have a little play with my SPECTRUM NOIR pens. These are the cards I made.

The first one is an experiment - my first image coloured solely with Greys. Love how they blended. The image is a background stamp from WALTZINGMOUSE STAMPS with the red flower stamped inbetween the pattern. The pearls were ivory but I coloured them with Cool Grey 8 so they matched the image.

My second card started off as a single layer card but I felt the card needed "something" so matted onto black card and loved the result. I am soooo chuffed with the shading on the little bear - all thanks to the lovely juicy pens :) and the tourquoise set are fabulous. I hand drew the thin border around the edge to add a little interest

This is my last Sneak Peek of the gorgeous new stamps due out on TODAY on CRAFTERS COMPANION and the weekend on CREATE & CRAFT. There are 6 new Humphreys and 6 new SWALK sets.

The stamp plates will be £3.99 each but CRAFTERS COMPANION have a multibuy offer of 3 for £10.

This first card is made using "Daydream Believer". The main image, butterfly, sentiment and flower are all from the stamp plate. I stamped the flower to make a border and all coloured with SPECTRUM NOIR PENS. The papers are from SWALK CD1 with the gems added to finish.

My second card today is made using "The Present". I stamped the girlie then masked her to stamp the parcels at the front. Coloured of course again with SPECTRUM NOIR PENS and papers from SWALK CD. Sentiment added and pearls and you have a perfect girlie card :)

This last card is my first ever slider card. I used "Best Pals" stamp set. I stamped him onto the card and coloured but he seemed to be "sitting in the air" so I coloured water, river bank and grass to make a scene. The paper is from SWALK CD. I then cut the easel part for the tab pull.

Inside I continued the river with frog and fishes in the water. Below is a side view pic of the top of the tab.

The papers and image are so devine all it needed was some lovely wide ribbon. The "pearls" are using a paint pen.

This card is made using "Hugs for you" colouring of course with SPECTRUM NOIR PENS. The reds in these pens are such a pleasure to use - they blend better than any other pens I have used. I used white opaque pen on the dress for the dots (reminds me of a strawberry LOL). The main image, sentiment and present pile are all stamps from this plate - value for money again :) The papers are from Humphrey CD.

Thought I'd share a pic of all my lovely pens. I was very lucky to have the 6 packs of the new SPECTRUM NOIR PENS from CRAFTERS COMPANION sent to me as a DT member to try. They were so lush, so when the other colours were released to purchase I HAD TO HAVE THEM!

The pic shows them sorted into colour group with my Promarkers ready for me to play :)

You have to have them guys and girls - they are so juicy and blend like a dream (and also blend well with PM's and I'm told with Copics too)

I used "Chocolate Box" one of the new Humphrey sets to make my easel card. The papers are all from Humphrey CD too. Of course the image is coloured with the new SPECTRUM NOIR PENS which are available from CRAFTERS COMPANION and launch at the weekend on CREATE & CRAFT. The nailheads on the card were silver but I coloured with Speccys in the same blue as her dress to match.

The pens are fantastic - a dream to use - and it was a delight to colour this little image :)

There must be at least one number on your project. I came up with the idea as in 3 days time I have been married to my lovely Husband Paul for 20 years and my card is for him.

I used Crumb Cake SU card with Chocolate Chip to accent the number. The inks are Chocolate Chip and Whisper White. I love the twine (freebie from Linda - thanks xxx) which I added to the top of the card. The border pattern is two different border stamps.

Latest Makes - Just for fun!

These are the projects I have been working on (along with DT work LOL). I decided I wanted to make some cushions for our new caravan, so I made one large and one small one.

This white one is the large one. I knitted 4 squares in different patterns for the front with a crochet flower and button in centre. The back is plain garter stitch.

The green one is made using "pompom" wool. Was very strange to knit with but love the ease of it. Grows very quickly and all plain knit but gives a very smooth/equal pattern.

On Friday 22 July, Crafters Companion are launching their very own alcohol marker pen system called Spectrum Noir.

Now they will be coming in their very own blending sets that they will all blend together and the colours graduate from light to dark and come in blending sets for other colours too - you get a blending set of pinks, a set of blues etc. which will make it much easier for you to choose your colours and know that they will work together. They are refillable and you can replace the nibs too................and the price is unbelievable!

I used a set from Elzybells and created a pic using the blank surf board, stamped the pattern onto it and used the horizon stamp to complete. I coloured with Aquamarkers and used Versamark pen for the flowers on the board and the sea and heat embossed with clear Embossing powder to highlight.

The lovely Sara is showcasing 3 new Reddy Die Cut Decoupage kits - Paintbox Winter Poppets, Thinking of You and Roses. MY DT kits contained the Roses which was not only the decoupage but also lovely vellum papers and borders. My cards are all made purely with the kit with only cardstock and embellishments added.

Sara is on C&C today at 8am, 11am, 1pm and 6pm with these kits (if they last LOL) and also demonstrating the ULTIMATE PRO.

This card is made with two of the decoupages layered ontop of one another to make a longer image.

I am recording the shows and hope I see my samples (and will squeal like a girlie LOL)

This card is made to fit this week's challenge on LESS IS MORE #23 which is a theme of:-

I bought these Lavinia stamps at NEC show in March and this is the first time they have been used (bad Jane!!!!). Not sure about it though - hmmmmm! Made the card from what I remembered of the demo on the day.

I masked the edges of the card then used DI in Weathered Wood and Peeled Paint for the background and masked the hill with torn paper and a moon with punched circle. The stamps used are fairy, wishing well, stars, fern and mushrooms.

This is my DT card for this week's challenge on SECRET CRAFTER SATURDAY CHALLENGE which this week is set by the lovely Francesca. She has chosen a theme of:-

GET WELL SOON

I experimented with this card but stamping the flowers down the side with Versamark ink then heat embossed with Clear Embossing powder. I then used Victorian Velvet Distress Ink around the sides of the card and coming in over the flowers which then highlighted them. I stamped the leaves and sentiment with Peeled Paint Distress ink and cut the Fancy tag for behind the sentiment. The left side of the card looked bare so I embossed with Swiss dots folder. Really please with the classy look.

Popcorn Pals Sneak Peek - Release Day

A bumper sneak peek today to celebrate RELEASE DAY - woooohooooo! You can now order these beauties from CRAFTERS COMPANION WEBSITE. You can get your hands on the whole crew - Popcorn the Bear, Souffle the Duck, Biscuit the Dog, Candy Floss the Raggy Doll, Barley the Mouse, Pickles the Hedgehog and Fydge the Cat.

The first two cards are made using the remaining two stamp plates. The Candy Floss Raggy Doll, butterfliesand sentiment are from one set (along with others I have not used). The butterfly paper is scrummy - perfect match to the TH Distress ink Weathered wood which I have used around the edges of the papers, image and sentiment. The sentiment plate is cut on cuttlebug using oval and scallop oval nesties with Martha Stewart border punch on the mat. I cut a corner of card and put through rippler for added texture. Small blue gems to finish.

This card is made using the last of the four stamp plates. I thought I would try and see what Candy Floss Raggy Doll looks like as a blond and love the result. Again great value on the stamp plate with the Candy Floss, Pickles the Hedgehog, Barley the Mouse, Souffle the Duck and circle sentiment all from the plate (along with others) - how fab is that!. Image coloured with promarkers with blue bling card for mats to add sparkle.

These next two cards are made using one of the topper sheets. I used three different Design papers on this Pickles the Hedgehog with Barley the Mouse card and cut the topper out on cuttlebug using lables nestie. I used a sentiment from one of the stamp plates and gems to finish.

And for my last card it's another easel card made using the design paper that matches the topper. I love this one as it shows almost all the charachters - Popcorn, Candy Floss Raggy Doll, Fudge the Cat, Pickles the Hedgehog, Souffle the Duck and the ickle Barley Mouse :) Sentiment from one of the stamp plates with punched flowers and brads and spacers to decorate the bottom layer.

Now my next projects are to show that these CD's are not only for making cards. I had some inkjet transfer paper so I thought I would see how they turned out.

The first three are little baby vests which I have decorated with different toppers. It's hard to tell on the pics but the transfers are so shiny :) The first one I cut following the printed heart shape but the other two are "shaped" in my photo program to make an oval and an octagon.

When I bought the baby vests I noticed a bargain of two adult vest tops for £3 so I thought I would have a go for me and my daughter too :) Love them and can see myself making more of these!

I hope you have enjoyed my sneak peeks over the last few days. I have adored working with these CD's and stamps. 17 samples overall and I have sooooooooooooooo many more ideas too :)
